Review Solicitation Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
TapaTap helps customers find your review page; it never decides who gets to leave a review. This policy is part of our Terms of Service and applies to every business that uses TapaTap. It reflects the rules of the review platforms and of US law, including the Federal Trade Commission's rule on consumer reviews and testimonials (16 CFR Part 465), the Consumer Review Fairness Act and California law.
Ask everyone, the same way
You may invite customers to leave a review, and you should invite all of them in the same way. Do not decide whom to ask based on whether you expect a positive or negative review.
What is not allowed
- Review gating: asking customers how they feel first and sending only happy customers to a review site, or sending unhappy customers somewhere else. TapaTap has no such feature, and you may not build one around it.
- Incentives: offering or giving discounts, gifts, free items, entries into a draw or anything else of value in exchange for a review, or for a positive review.
- Fake reviews: writing, buying or arranging reviews that do not reflect a real customer's genuine experience, including reviews written with AI and posted as a customer's, or reviews by you, your staff or your family that do not disclose that connection.
- Suppression: pressuring, threatening or intimidating anyone to stop or remove a review, or hiding negative reviews you control while showing positive ones.
- Contract clauses: asking customers to agree not to post negative reviews. Such clauses are void and unlawful.
Platform rules
- Google: you may ask for reviews, but not selectively and not in exchange for anything. Stands for Google say "Review us on Google" and "Tap your phone here".
- Yelp: Yelp does not allow businesses to ask for reviews. Yelp stands and links only say "Find us on Yelp" and point to your Yelp page; never ask for a Yelp review.
- Others: follow the rules of each platform you send customers to.
Your stands and materials
Do not add star graphics, "5 stars", incentive language, or platform logos that suggest an endorsement to TapaTap stands, cards or anything you display with them.
Replying to reviews
Your replies, including replies drafted with TapaTap's AI features, must be truthful, must not offer anything in exchange for a review or for changing one, and must not ask the reviewer to edit or remove it.
What we do
TapaTap sends every visitor to the destination you chose, without asking how they feel. If we learn that a stand or link is used in breach of this policy, we may suspend it or close the account under our Terms of Service. You are responsible for how your business asks for reviews.
